Go dutch is an American idiom used to share the cost of something such as a meal. It is used to tell people you go out with to share equally the cost in a restaurant or a cafe. Examples: 1. She insisted on going dutch when they were having lunch together. 2. While we were having lunch, my friend suggested to go dutch.
